Legendary New York radio broadcaster, Joan Hamburg, was fortunate enough to have a very unusual mother.  Her mother insisted Joan get a great education regardless of the social norms of the time.  Yet having a very successful career mom wasn't always easy for Joan's  children.She opened her heart and home to her radio family.

Education, practice and lots of hard work are just a few of the characteristics that Christopheren Nomura learned from his Japanese American parents.  He started singing at a very young age with his mother and the rest is history. His family overcame tremendous difficulties as immigrants and Christopheren dedicated his life to singing professionally.

Since this episode was recorded, Christopheren has taken on two teaching positions:   Stonybrook University on Long Island and Seton Hall University in New Jersey.
